In 2023 we published a 20 page zine titled Blue Bodies. It was a fun but daunting experience where we got to publish 9 wonderful contributors. This year we want to reimagine the concept of Blue Bodies, expanding the type of work that will be included.

Calling all poc artists! We’re accepting the following categories:

  • Non-fiction
  • Photography and Photo essays
  • Visual art
If you have a concept that doesn’t fit into the listed categories send us an email and we’ll see if we can make it work! Submissions close on April 11th at 23:59.

General Guidelines

Compensation and Fees?

There is no fee to submit work and we are not currently offering payment to selected contributors. Selected contributors will receive a copy of the final zine and tickets to the launch event.

Who Can Submit?

We are accepting submissions from Black and Brown people currently based in Ireland, from Ireland, or having connections to Ireland.

What Should My Submission Look Like?
There is no theme for Blue Bodies. The idea is to present a collation of Black-Irish work in an attempt to identify and shape our own narrative. Guidelines for accepted formats are listed below:
  • Word limit: 2000
  • Written work: PDF / Google doc / Word doc
  • Hand written work:
    • May be accepted as a PNG or JPEG
    • Must be accompanied by a typed submission
  • Photography and Visual art: JPEG / PNG
  • We are accepting multiple submissions - up to 3 per person
  • We are looking to publish original, unpublished work
  • Copyright of all submitted work belongs to the artist
What Happens After I Submit My Work?

We will be responding to submissions via email within 2 months of submissions closing.
